Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Toronto
Supporting the activities carried out by the Embassy in Ottawa and the Consulate General of Italy in Toronto, the Italian Cultural Institute identifies the most appropriate methods of promoting the image of Italy as a centre of production, conservation and cultural diffusion from classical times to the present. In addition to organising cultural events in different sectors (art, music, cinema, theatre, dance, fashion, design, photography), the Italian Cultural Institute: offers the opportunity, to those who are interested, to learn about the Italian language and culture through the organisation of courses, its library and magazines which are available for perusal; creates contacts and premises in order to facilitate the integration of Italian operators into cultural exchanges and productions of an international level; provides information and logistical support to both Italian and foreign public and private operators;  supports initiatives which favour intercultural dialogue based on the principles of democracy and international solidarity.

Mobile Media Lab (MML) – York University & Concordia University

The MML is co-located at York University in Toronto, and in Hexagram, at Concordia University in Montreal. The lab is made up of an interdisciplinary research team exploring wireless communications, mobile technologies and locative media practices. MML brings together a unique configuration of expertise in art, design, engineering, new media, cultural theory, social science and policy studies.

The Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies – York University
The Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies supports interdisciplinary and discipline-specific research pertinent to the study of Canada and “Canada in the World.” In practice, this has meant an orientation toward broader Canadian and international scholarly and policy-making communities, inquiries into comparative perspectives on the Canadian mosaic, and assistance to York scholars in working with their counterparts in other countries. 
Faculty at the Robarts Centre, including the Director, the Robarts Chair and other Robarts researchers, regularly teach courses and contribute to curriculum development in areas pertaining Canadian and North American as well as comparative studies. The Robarts Centre also provides supervised research and writing opportunities for graduate students from a wide range of York graduate programs.

In Italy:

Centro di Studi Canadesi “Alfredo Rizzardi” – University of Bologna
Established in 1987, the Centre for Canadian Studies “Alfredo Rizzardi” promotes the study and the investigation of Canadian culture in Italy and in Europe; it also encourages and supports joint-research projects between Italy and Canada. The centre provides assistance to Italian and European scholars working with their counterpart in Canada, and plays a major role in organising seminars and events dedicated to Canada and its multifaceted dimensions. Professor Giovanna Franci, co-assisted by Dr Elena Lamberti and Dr Giuliana Gardellini, directs the Centre.

Fondazione Guglielmo Marconi, Bologna – Italy
The Guglielmo Marconi Foundation is a non-profit institution, which was set up in 1938 and is located in the historical Villa Griffone, near Bologna, where Marconi conducted his first wireless telegraphy experiments. The Foundation develops programs in three different areas: history and museum activities, advanced research in telecommunications, and higher education in the ICT field. A board of directors appointed by the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage manages the Foundation.

ISA – Institute for Advanced Studies, University of Bologna
The Institute of Advanced Studies (ISA) promotes and organizes international and interdisciplinary research activities at the University of Bologna. The Institute selects and host visiting professors, postdoctoral researchers and Ph.D. students visiting the Alma Mater Studiorum.

The Institute of Advanced Studies started its activities in 2001. Its initial conception and early development are closely associated with other similar institutes all over the world, in terms both of personal contacts and institutional relationships. The Institute provides to scholars and scientists of the University of Bologna the instruments and the means to bring to Bologna visiting professors and junior scientists to contribute to the circulation of new ideas and exchange of information. Support to the participation of foreign students to local PhD courses is also supplied.  Professor Dario Braga directs the Institute.
